Gold heart
In 1983, the young founder, Feng, visited a historic textile workshop in Japan. In the soft light streaming in through the sliding screen windows, he witnessed the artisans painstakingly handcrafting each stitch of fabric. He was deeply touched by the artisans' belief that "fabrics are what accompany people's most secure moments, so we can't be careless." This marked the beginning of the Gold Heart brand. After returning to Japan, Feng resolutely quit his stable job at a spinning mill and opened a small workshop with the savings he had accumulated over three years. He initially focused on producing simple four-piece bed linen sets made from organic cotton from Okayama.
"Gold" represents the brand's extreme commitment to quality. Each time, cotton is selected, long, thin fibers with a fiber length of 38 millimeters or more are carefully selected, and only after touching it is purchased is it confirmed to be "soft and gentle on the skin." Meanwhile, "Heart" represents the brand's meticulous consideration for the user's sleep. To ensure that bed linen retains its shape after washing, the stitches are densely packed with eight stitches per centimeter. To prevent the fabric from rubbing against the body when moving around at night, the thread thickness was finally determined through repeated trial and error.
In 1998, Gold Heart received a letter from a customer in Tokyo. The letter read, "I bought a Gold Heart futon cover 20 years ago, and now my daughter is getting married, so I'm looking for another with the same design as a wedding gift." Feng immediately opened the box containing the old blueprints, checked every parameter of the loom from that time, and spent a month meticulously completing the reproduction. The customer then wrote back, "My daughter loved using this bed linen. Thank you so much." This letter of trust and approval still sits on Feng's desk, vividly demonstrating the brand's "countless small promises."
Even today, Gold Heart often chooses soft tones such as light blue, beige, and light gray. These colors blend naturally into both Japanese and Western-style rooms in Japanese homes and can be matched with a variety of home styles. The brand places great importance on the change in feel, pursuing a comfortable experience in which the fabric becomes more comfortable and softer against the skin with each wash. To protect the health of users, the brand has always avoided the use of fluorescent agents and harmful dyes. The Shopify online store provides detailed explanations of each product's "material origin," "washing instructions," and "skin effects." This sincerity toward users has never changed since the brand was founded in 1983.
"When we design a product, we consider how long it will be used in the user's home." The time to relax after returning home late at night, the anxious moment when a child sleeps alone for the first time, the peaceful time when elderly parents doze off in the afternoon - in these mundane yet precious scenes of life, Gold Heart is always quietly accompanying you with its soft bed linen, ensuring a restful sleep every night. This has been Gold Heart's unwavering "original intention" since 1983.
